About Wild Path Consulting
Supporting Sustainable Futures
The Journey
Rooted in Purpose
Foundational Values
At Wild Path Consulting, the foundational values are centered around sustainability, reconciliation, and respect for Indigenous communities and the land. I believe businesses, local governments and organizations can succeed while honoring the environment, respecting cultural protocols, and fostering meaningful partnerships with Indigenous communities. This commitment guides every service I provide and every relationship I help build.
Commitment to Reconcilliation
Born and raised on the unceded and stolen territory of the Syilx Okanagan people, my commitment to reconciliation is deeply personal and rooted in their respect for the land and its caretakers. I strive to honor the histories, rights, and knowledge of Indigenous communities by fostering meaningful relationships that are built on trust, cultural understanding, and respect for protocols.
Reconciliation is about walking in a good way with Indigenous communities and the land we share. I help businesses integrate Truth and Reconciliation into their operations by facilitating land acknowledgments, connecting them with Knowledge Keepers and Elders, and supporting their efforts to align sustainability initiatives with Indigenous values and traditions.
Vision for the Future
At Wild path Consulting, my vision for the future is where businesses and communities walk together in harmony with the land, embracing sustainability, reconciliation, and respect for Indigenous knowledge. My goal is to give organizations the tools to integrate sustainable practices, honor cultural protocols, and foster meaningful partnerships that contribute to a thriving planet and resilient communities for generations to come.
Brooke McLaughlin
Professional in Sustainability and Indigenous Relations and Reconcilliation
With a Master’s in Regenerative Sustainability, a Bachelor’s in Political Science, a Diploma in Project Management, and a Certificate in Energy Management Systems, Brooke combines academic expertise with practical experience to help organizations achieve their sustainability goals. Born and raised on the unceded territory of the Syilx Okanagan Nation, Brooke’s work is rooted in her personal commitment to fostering reconciliation and sustainability.
Guided by deep friendships and mentorships with Syilx Knowledge Keepers, Brooke promotes respectful collaboration and helps organizations build ethical partnerships with Indigenous communities, ensuring cultural protocols are upheld.
"It is not my knowledge or history to share with those outside of the Syilx Okanagan Nation. As an outsider, I have been entrusted with sacred knowledge that is not meant to be shared with the world. My role is to bridge the gap between two worlds, helping Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities walk together in a good way. I support this process to ensure no harm is done to Indigenous communities and encourage organizations to learn through meaningful relationships."
Knowledge from First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities is not a commodity. Brooke advises organizations to consult and compensate Indigenous Elders, Knowledge Keepers, or consultants, emphasizing that their knowledge is not freely given nor owed.
Brooke specializes in securing grant funding, meeting environmental regulations, and integrating sustainable solutions. Her holistic approach helps clients create impactful projects that honor cultural traditions, protect the environment, and support sustainable growth, fostering a more inclusive future.

I honor the Syilx Nation's enduring care, stewardship, and deep connection to this land, and I commit to actions of respect and reconciliation as I strive to live and work here in a good way.
